ABOUT
Christopher is a writer, filmmaker and podcast producer from London, England.
As Culture Editor and later Film Critic-at-Large of The Independent, his articles at the publication were shared more than one million times and read over 500 million times. Interviewing everyone from Martin Scorsese to Tommy Wiseau, and covering everything from porn sets to funeral award ceremonies, it was here that he created 'Kernels', an award-winning podcast about cinema.
While continuing to write on a freelance basis for Vice, GQ, The Guardian, NME and others, Christopher shifted focus to films, books and podcasts. In 2019, he launched 'Coffee & Flowers', a Webby Awards-honoured documentary podcast made with and about Grammy-winning band The National that was the #1 music podcast in the world upon its release. The show attracted over 400,000 downloads and was covered in Pitchfork, El Pais, GQ, The A.V. Club and other outlets.
Christopher is currently developing a major new TV docu-series with Passion Pictures (‘Searching for Sugar Man’, ‘Studio 54’) and co-hosts ‘Candela’, a podcast at the intersection of photography and cinematography that features conversations with leading figures in these fields. He has also produced the audio short story series Paperless, featuring the voices of Steve Buscemi, Elle Fanning and others, and directed commercials through his agency, Ziggurat.
He completed his first feature film, 'Meniscus', in 2018, and in 2020 collaborated with Film4 and Vero, writing and directing a new short entitled 'False Indigo' (Official Selection – Malibu Film Festival, Lift-Off Berlin, NYIFA, New York Movie Awards, Bucharest CineFest, Winner ‘Best Drama’ – Venice Film Awards), which stars Morgane Polanski (‘The Pianist’, ‘Vikings’, ‘The French Dispatch’) and was executive produced by BAFTA-winning director Steve Bendelack (‘The League of Gentlemen’).
His first book will be released in 2026 through Hachette (US & Canada) and Bloomsbury (UK & Australia). He is repped by WME.
